National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Guwahati, Assam has released a job advertisement for recruitment 8 posts of Project Coordinator, Senior Faculty in Bioinformatics, Junior Faculty in Bioinformatics and Technical Assistant vacancy under a funded project purely on temporary and short-term contract on consolidated remuneration initially for a period of 1 year and may be considered for extension based on performance and requirement.

1. Project Coordinator
No. of Post: 1
Qualification:
Essential: M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology, OR M.Tech in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology, OR B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering or MCA with strong exposure to AI/Cloud/Software Systems.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in project coordination, planning, and execution.
• Proven track record in implementing large-scale e-Governance, ICT, or R&D projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in capacity building and digital skills training programs.
• Exposure to Emerging Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, IoT, AR/VR, Cyber Security, Drone Technology, and Multimedia Systems.
• Strong skills in team management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
Age Limit: Max 45 yrs.
Maximum Monthly Remuneration Consolidated: ₹ 1,20,000/- Per month
2. Senior Faculty in Bioinformatics

Qualification:
Specialization: Omics Data Analysis (1 No.)
Essential:
• M.Tech./M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology from a recognized university.
• Working experience in Structural and Functional Genomics Bioinformatics, supported by publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time teaching or research experience in reputed public or private academic/research institutions, preferably at the postgraduate level.
Desirable:
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Life Sciences with expertise in Structural and Functional Genomics.
• Research track record with at least 3 publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
• Experience in teaching and student mentoring at postgraduate or doctoral level.
Specialization: Structural Bioinformatics (1 No.)
Essential:
• M.Tech/M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time teaching or research experience in reputed public or private academic/ research institutions, preferably at the postgraduate level.
• Hands-on expertise (minimum 5 years) in Structural Bioinformatics, including protein structure analysis,
molecular modeling, docking, molecular dynamics simulations, and related computational methodologies,
supported by publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
Desirable:
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Life Sciences with specialization in Structural Bioinformatics.
• Research track record with at least 5 publications in the last 5 years in reputed international SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring students at postgraduate or doctoral level.
Age Limit: Max 45 yrs.

3. Junior Faculty in Bioinformatics

Qualification:
Essential:
• M.Tech/M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Computational Biology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience after the highest academic qualification in teaching, research, or
industry in reputed institutions/organizations.
• Documented 2 years of working experience in Bioinformatics research and applications, including one or more of the following:
→ Structural Bioinformatics
→ Genomics / Transcriptomics / Metagenomics / Proteomics
→ Related computational or data-driven biological approaches
• Practical exposure to Bioinformatics tools, pipelines,
databases, and computational/statistical methods for
life science data analysis.
Desirable:
• Experience in teaching and student mentoring at postgraduate or doctoral level in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Life Sciences with expertise in Structural Bioinformatics or Structural & Functional Genomics.
• Evidence of research contributions with publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals in Bioinformatics or related areas.
Age Limit: Max 40 yrs.
Maximum Monthly Remuneration Consolidated: ₹ 40,000/- Per month
4. Technical Assistant

Qualification:
Essential:
• Postgraduate qualification in Economics, Management, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in program management, monitoring, accounts, and reporting.
• Proven expertise in large-scale program coordination and stakeholder management.
• Strong abilities in documentation, compliance monitoring, and report preparation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software such as Tally or Busy.
• Competence in preparing and analyzing MIS/statistical reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
• Experience in government-funded programs (skill development, digital initiatives, or scientific/technical
domains).
• Familiarity with portal-based monitoring systems and dashboard-based reporting.
• Exposure to Bioinformatics, Electronics, or IT-enabled training programs.
• Versatile mindset with exposure to multidisciplinary areas such as training, yoga, or psychology.
• A problem-solving attitude with flexibility to contribute to the evolving Smart Bioinformatics Ecosystem.
Age Limit: Max 40 yrs.

Selection Process of NIELIT Guwahati
Only shortlisted candidates, after screening of applications, will be called for interview. The interview is scheduled on 30-10-2025 from 10:00 AM onwards. Any changes in the schedule or mode of interview shall be notified on the NIELIT Guwahati website.
